Dakota is an 11 year old thoroughbred x Arabian riding pony mare who stands at 14.3 7/8hhs.
Easy to c/f/s, drench and great with other horses and dogs.
No beginners please, a confident rider with at least an intermediate sense of experience needed. She would be best suited to a pony club rider who is competing in grade 4 and looking to go up the grades.
Dakota is the perfect all rounder/pony club mount. In the past 3 and 1/2 years of owning her she has been to many pony club rallies, showjumping and dressage competitions, combined training, gymkhanas, bush rides, lessons, egz squad rallies and eventing clinics. With her previous owner Dakota competed at PCAV state games and qualified for PCAV state dressage. Loves to jump and has springs in her hooves, can jump a lot higher than majority of horses her height. Can be taken/ridden out alone or in a group, she isn't phased. Loves games activities at pony club.
In the last 12 months she has been mainly used for pony club rallies, showjumping lessons, freshmans showjumping days and many bush rides.
Dakota would best be suited to a petite confident 12+ rider as she is quite a fine horse and a very clever one. She is a classic chestnut mare, her ears are most of the time tattooed to the back of her head, but its just a show and once she gets to know her rider will try her best to please. She isn't a horse that you can pull out of the paddock and ride once a week. She works best being in full/medium work.
Whilst we have owned Dakota she has had 3 bouts of tying up. This is very easily treated with care and correct management. I am happy to discuss this aspect of her with anybody interested in her.
